Question by BC: As a UK citizen do I need travel insurance the visit Ireland?
I am an English citizen and will be visiting the Republic of Ireland in a couple of months. Will I need travel insurance or am I just covered by the NHS the same as at home?
*obviously should be TO visit Ireland!

You would be OK for emergency medical treatment under EHIC / E111 rules. We have the HSE, not the NHS.

I’d still recommend it for 2 reasons.
Say you broke a leg or had a heart attack, while you’d be OK for emergency treatment, you wouldn’t be OK for gettinging home again.
You’d be covered for other non-medical things, like lost baggage.

Sounds like everyone looking for car insurance. Good and cheap is the best way to go. Quotes for minibus would be the same for auto insurance. This may follow into a different category unless this is for commercial use. If you are driving the vehicle under normal circumstances then your best bet would be to look at quotes from the top auto insurance companies like http://www.geico.com, http://www.nationwidebillrelief.com/autoinsurance.html, http://www.farmers.com and http://www.esurance.com. Get as many quotes as you can in order to find the best rate. Don’t forget to mention an safety equipment the bus comes with to see if there may be discounts available. IF this is a commercial account, talk with an agent and see what they suggest.

Am I really getting what Im being quoted when I ask for a quote from a car insurance company, or is it some kind of a ploy to show me a low rate and get me to sign up with them so they can stick it to me later on?

I was given the insurance rate I was quoted. The rate actually went down on my car because my car kept getting older and I didn’t get into accidents!

The “cheap” life insurance without an exam does ask health questions which you must answer honestly or the policy will be rescinded. In addition, those policies do not pay out for the first two years other than a return of premium. If the life expectancy is two years it is too late to get insurance. You should have thought about this last year.

Question by Craptacular Wonderment: Why is home insurance limited to each and every different type of disaster?
The home is either livable or NOT livable…it matters NOT what disaster ruined the home..

Why then is it that you have to pay extra for each different type of circumstance? An accident is an accident…. a disaster is a disaster… the home can only be burned, flooded, distroyed by earthquake / tornado / hurricaine ONCE.. why pay for all the different ways insurance-wise?

How covered is covered? And WHY !!!! Why?? Is it if you Never have any type of claim you aren’t refunded some of that money you spend year after year after year?

Again, once you’ve paid in insurance the amount of the home value.. what difference does it make if you replaced the home ‘money-wise’ already in insurance premiums? Why not spend those premiums on a second home instead?

Just shooting in the dark here of the many complaints I have heard ranted from my elders recently.. their solutions were hysterical.. I’d love to hear more solutions.

You used the words paid, pay, money, spend, and they are all correct. It is all about the money, yours specifically, and how much of it the insurance industry can get (steal).

Not many street-bikes in the 125cc or under class.
Unless you find an older one in great shape or go moped.
Was there a typo and you meant 1250cc’s? (no 125cc machine could be rolling down the road at 2,000 lbs) ?

I have been searching for cat insurance for 2 weeks. Every time I ask about it someone sends me a link to comparison sites- general information is useful, but I would really like someones personal opinion and experience with regards to their own cat insurers. Who do you use? How much does it cost for lifelong cover? PetPlan have quoted me £29 per month for the budget plan- mainly because I live in London… this seems a bit excessive for a indoor British Shorthair who is healthy as pie. You don’t want cheap homeowners insurance. You want GOOD homeowners insurance. Find out the cost the way you would with anything. Shop around. Talk to people you know that own homes. Read.
